Lefkada

Situated near the village of Nidri, the Dimossari Waterfalls is a little paradise of greenery, perfect for refreshing dips on those hot summer days. Impeccable tranquillity and serenity, this waterfall ends in a lake with spectacular rocks. You can easily reach it from Nidri by following the signs.

Travelling to Lefkada, also known as the "Emerald Island", is a heavenly experience and hiring a car/ renting a car/ choosing to rent a car is the best way to conveniently discover the east and west side of the small yet impressive island, make a stop at its amazing beaches and visit some well- preserved villages at your own pace.

Its olive forests, vineyards and lush vegetation reaching the sea, blending with the amazing turquoise waters, are utterly refreshing. The western part hosts prize-winning beaches, nestled at the foot of steep cliffs. Top on the list is the iconic Porto Katsiki, where nature is almost untouched, along with the exceptional and remote Egremnoi and Kathisma, which is ranked among the best, with exclusive coffee and cocktail bars. Vacationers also love Gaidaros, one of the most secluded, Amoglossa with shallow waters, Agios Ioannis and Agios Nikitas fishing ports close to the capital, Milos with its exotic sandhills, Megali Petra, a gem of the island and Gyra, with a more calm atmosphere.

The east coastline’s beaches are not so popular, but three places are a must- visit: Nidri, a lovely resort lying around a natural bay, Sivota, a picturesque fishing village with a small port where fishing boats and yachts moor and Vasiliki, a quaint fishing village and popular summer resort.
